3 miles

I did my first 3 miles on Sunday. It was a good run. I talked through most of it with another runner, so it went by pretty quickly and painlessly. I was sick Monday and Tuesday (bummer).. but I ran today! It was another successful 3 miles. This time ran in 33 min. Not to bad, I guess. It was freezing!! But that ended up working to my advantage, because I hardly stopped to walk.. if I did it wasn't for long. So I was pretty proud of myself. Beyond it being cold, it was nice.. I saw all kinds of birds.. and had a goose try to nip at my ankles.. There were snow flurries, and wind (thank goodness most of trail is through forest..). Today I read an article about Paula Radcliffe, that was, uh, inspiring.. She ran a 10k, 27 weeks pregnant, in 46 min... yowza.. oh and that was taking it easy! I will be happy if I can do a 10k in 46 min, not pregnant! Something to aspire to, I guess..
Everything is going well.. I'm still running in crappy shoes, and I'm starting to feel it..After today's run I had a dull ache in my lower back. I think it is also caused to my horrible posture today (I ran kinda hunched because I was cold).. but I'm pretty sure I can chalk it all to my lousy shoes.. I'm getting new ones this weekend (hopefully).. and with that I hope the back ache will go away. I'm also going to not run like Quasimodo tomorrow.. Its starting feel more comfortable.. I look forward to moving up in mileage per week. I'm really starting to enjoy, possibly love running.
