This week I got inspired.. I want to run a marathon! Sounds crazy.. and out of the blue, but its something I've always wanted to do.. I usually give up and try something not as daunting. This time, I'm going to do it. I can. The marathon is next January, so I'm pretty confident I can get in shape and be ready.I started training this week. Before I run the marathon I'm doing a smaller races. My first goal is to run a 5k.
SO I started on this 5k schedule thing this week. I ran a mile. I was surprised at how easy it was. No sweat I got it in the bag, I was thinking. After my run, thinking it was nothing, I jumped on the bike and did 3 more miles. Then I ran again today.. it was a little harder, after all I was sore and some how I forgot how to breath, and I hadn't drank any water.. I think the only liquid I had was coffee and soda.. real healthy I know... After about a 3/4 mile, I felt a horrible pain in my side.. which is my bodies way of saying "give me water, NOW!". Then because the cramp in my side, I couldn't breathe.. which added a whole new problem. After I drank some water and figured out how to breath right, I was able to finish the run no problem. In fact it felt better than the day before. That made me happy, because before I drank water I was starting to think I was out of shape.. hehe. I'm actually going to drink water this time.. before my run..
I need to get new running shoes.. mine are beyond dead. I'm surprised they are still in one piece. Hopefully after we finish moving, I'll make it to the store to get another pair.. which I'm sure will help when I start running through our new neighborhood.
