4 days done! Really not impressive.. lol. But still exciting, that for 4 days I've been waking early and working out. That I'm patting myself on the back for. :) As well as eating really good. That was probably the easiest for me.. though it will become more an issue after a few weeks.
I need a gym to do the program, so I went to the local gold's and signed up for a trial. Since waking up is such an issue for me, I have to prove to my husband that I can wake up and get the workout before everyone wakes up for the trial period, before he commits to paying for the year.. He's a butt, but I love a good a challenge and he knows it. :)
So far I've been good, but I usually am the first 2 weeks.. Its week 3 I start to slip, and then the self hate cycle comes week 4, week 5 I've stopped completely. Not this time.
I've discovered the serious bodybuilding guys, reeeaaallly intimidate me. haha. At my gym, there are 2 strength training areas. The downstairs one is the serious one. Its huge, and all the people down there are ripped. Upstairs is the less serious one. There is a lot less machines and they don't have as high weights. Today I need to do barbell squats. There are no barbell upstairs, so that meant I had to enter the muscle man zone. It was then I realized how intimidated I am. I did a lap and decided the muscle guys are far to scary and high tailed it upstairs and found a barbells not attached to a machine and did my squats. I was only able to do 45, as that's the most I can lift over my head, but after 3 sets of 12, I realized it wasn't near enough. Luckily, I meet with a personal trainer tomorrow and I'm going to ask to go down to the muscle man zone and learn how to use the machines properly so I don't feel as intimidated.
I also learned I HATE the stair stepper.. not because its too easy, but because its hard. SO I'm thinking its going to become my new best friend, although it will be a love/hate relationship. It worked areas, the treadmill certainly does not.
Its been an adventure in gym-ing.. I look forward to getting a more comfortable and getting a routine.
