I just about killed myself this morning.. I wore 2 shirts (don't be fooled by the lightness of a shirt..) and yoga pants. Today was leg day. Oy Vey! My leg workout today was a mix of plyo and weight training, which is killer in the least amount of clothing.. don't know what I was thinking.. On my first circuit I was regretting my clothing choices. I pushed through only modifying at the end, when I was pretty sure doing another circuit would lead to a hospital visit. On top of nearly dying, I also almost fell in my face, which in a crowded in gym, is totally awesome. Try to recover from tripping on your own foot doing lunge jumps with some dignity, cause I sure as hell didn't. I was nearly dying and tripping looking like a fool..and an oil spill. My clothes were sopping wet, and I was dripping.. I have mixed feelings about being drippy sweaty. On one hand I'm like, "hell ya, I'm hardcore. Real girls sweat, they glisten" and on the other I'm like, "ew, ew, ew". I've learned my lesson. Even in the dead of winter, I will not wear pants EVER again. I still have to go back tonight for cardio as I ran out of time (and steam). Hopefully I'm recovered, so I can do 30-40 mins cardio. And I will most definitely dress in clothing that won't kill me.
Finding clothes to wear to gym has been a challenge. I've always liked looser clothes for running, but now that I've lost some weight, my clothes aren't just loose, they are indecent. I'm down to a pair of shorts and a pair of capris and 2 shirts that don't look completely ridiculous. Which makes for a lot of laundry.. or if I'm lazy spending half my workout making sure I don't flash anyone with my baggy shorts and shirts...I get lazy often.. I'm afraid of getting a reputation as the flasher. I could really use some new clothes. That's not going to happen any time soon. Damn you holidays.. sucking all my funds!!
Actually I REALLY love the holidays, like buddy the elf love. It has taken everything in me to not bust out the Christmas music. I'm so ready for Christmas music, our tree, decorating, making our favorite holiday recipes. I'm also looking forward to cleaning up some my favorite holiday recipes. For some I'm eating them in their fatty, salt heavy, carb laden goodness. Like our Christmas eve tradition of deep dish pizza.. omg I can't wait. However other things I am going to make more healthy. Like thanksgiving meal is getting an overhaul for me. Which is fine by me. I hate the, "please don't throw me into the a body of water as I fear I will sink to the bottom, being so heavy with potatoes and turkey" feeling. Our advent meals are going to get cleaned up as well. Its fairly simple and also results in much tastier meals, imo. I love that my hubby is encouraging me with this. We've been making a holiday game plan, so I can eat clean and keep up with my training. If I stay on track, this holiday won't end with my pants squeezing the ever loving life out of me.
But before we celebrate pilgrims and baby Jesus, its election day.. Time for me to go use my constitutional rights to write in batman on my ballot..Totally kidding..
