Last week I started a new training program. I had been winging it since I finished the Jamie Eason livefit trainer and wasn't seeing the results I was when I had a program to follow. I found
Jen Rankins program on bodybuilding.com and liked it. I added more sets and lowered the reps so I can go heavier. I have plateaued and really want to build up my top half, and the extra sets and heavier weights seem to do the job. Hopefully I can get back on track. I've got something coming down the pike, but I don't want to jump the gun. Stay posted. ;)
The end of this month (if we get actually remember to sign up), my hubby and I are going to run a 5k together. I'm excited to for him to feel the excitement of running a race. Its a Halloween one, so we are of course dressing up. He's going to be shaun and I'm going to be the dead girl in the garden from shaun of the dead. Its going to be really fun. I've never run a race with makeup or in a bath robe, so this should be interesting.
This last weekend My husband and I went to
Netherworld in Atlanta. I had SO much anxiety about going. I went to a few of those sort of things in my teens and had a horrible time. I never had a desire to go back. My husband LOVES this sort of thing. Our house is decked up with all kinds creatures and scares for Halloween and he loves a good scary movie. He's been wanting me to go with him to netherworld for awhile, but I was pretty sure I was going to have a heart attack. He started running with me and running a race with me, so I figured it was only fair to do something he loves. On the way we got me a little bottle of wine (no joke) to calm my nerves and quietly sat in complete anxiety. I begged to leave as soon as we got there, I was freaked out! Then I saw the creatures.. A few even staggered through the line,
and I ran as fast as I could to the car, once I saw them, I felt a little less nervous loosed up a bit. I was amazed at the talent of the actors and of the makeup/costume people. It was also really fun watching them chase 13 year olds. Before we went in, I won't lie, I was praying that I could enjoy it enough to not totally bum out my husband by crying or curling up in fear. The door opened, I took a deep breath, prayed they had defibrillators to revive me, and we went in. Once we got in I got a big goofy smile, and I realized how stinken cool it was. I held my hubbies arm and he point out anyone waiting to pop out (he knows I HATE that), and we geeked out on the amazing sets, costumes, makeup, "creatures". I'm sure we looked like 2 kids in willy wonkas factory as we were both smiling and pointing stuff out. My cheeks hurt from smiling!

Getting cozy with a creature |
The second floor was themed "the hive".The second floor wasn't my favorite.. There was a lot of just gross things, like bodies hanging from the ceiling, bloody rooms ect.. things that make me got "ick". Gore and all, it was still a really fun date. We are considering going again... Yes, we are that geeky. I highly recommend checking it out if you don't scare easily. I'm glad I tried something new and outside my comfort zone. It meant a lot to my husband. As we held hands in line for the second floor, he said, "I'm so in love with you! You are so awesome!" Aww romance at a haunted house.
